Cheap batteries

by Benny on May 18, 2009

Easily found in many different retailers, cheap batteries are used every day in most homes. While lower cost batteries are often thought as offering a shorter service life than higher priced ones, there is no reason why they cannot last as effectively if used properly.

Cheap batteries are developed by all major manufacturers, such as Duracell and Panasonic. Whether you buy batteries from the local newsagent, an electrical store or an online retailer, you will be able to find cheap batteries that offer reliability and value for money.

Newsagents often stock batteries that are most commonly found in every day appliances. These include:

•    AAA batteries.
•    AA batteries.
•    Button batteries.
•    D batteries.

Less commonly used batteries can be bought from electrical stores, garages and online retailers.

More expensive batteries
There are some batteries that have a higher initial price but offer a longer service life in return. For example, rechargeable batteries cost more than conventional batteries, but they can be charged between 100 and 1000 times.

This means you will spend less in the long run, even if the cost of a charger is taken into account.

Whatever type of batteries you buy, they should be handled properly to work to their potential.
